I.    Enrollment Plan

Nanjing University of Science & Technology offers both English-taught and Chinese-taught programs for graduate international students studying in China with abundant scholarships. Please refer to the List of NJUST 2020 Graduate Programs for International Students (http://study.njust.edu.cn/wrospectivewtudents/list.htm) for more information about majors or visit admission website (http://study.njust.edu.cn) about NJUST 2020 Doctoral programs, Master programs, and scholarship information.

The study duration for Master program is generally 2.5 years (full-time), and that for Doctoral program is generally 4 years (full-time). Upon completion of the program curriculum, passing the thesis/dissertation review and defense, corresponding degree and diploma will be awarded. Graduates majoring in Chinese as a teaching language should attain the HSK 5; graduates majoring in English language as a teaching language should at least attain HSK 3.

II. Eligibility

1.          Applicant must be non-Chinese citizens in good health both physically and mentally with good academic background, observe Chinese laws as well as university rules and regulations, and respect Chinese customs.

2.          Educational background and age limit

   Master program: Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or certification of equivalent education under the age of 35. The degree must be ready prior to the registration day.

Doctoral programs: Applicants must have a master’s degree certification of equivalent education under the age of 40. The degree must be ready prior to the registration day.

3.          Language Requirements

Applicants who apply for Chinese-taught programs must have the result of HSK4 or above;

Applicants who apply for English-taught program must have minimum requirements for IELTS (Academic) total score 5.5, or TOEFL score 80.

III. Application Dates and Deadlines

                Dec 30, 2019: Start of Application

             Mar 30, 2020: Deadline for the application of Chinese Government Scholarship

            May 30, 2020: Deadline for the application of other Scholarship program

            June 30, 2020: Deadline for self-supported application

IV. Application Procedure

1.      Apply Online. Complete the online application procedure at NJUST International Student Service System (visit http://admission.njust.edu.cn/. do and click ‘Register’ to create an account), submit online the completed Application Form for APPLICATION FORM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS TO STUDY AT NJUST, according to instruction, fill out data and upload relative application documents.

2.      Pay the application fee.

Note: No application fees will be returned regardless of admission.

V. Application Documents

1.        Copy of valid passport information page.

2.      Copy of the latest school diploma and official transcripts. If the above materials are neither in Chinese nor in English, one has to present notarized Chinese or English version.

Note: If applicants are enrolled as current university students in China, they should also submit the study certificate or approved transfer letter from their previous institutions.

3.      Language Proficiency Certificate

For English-taught program applicants: copy of official IELTS certificate or TOFEL certificate.

For Chinese-taught program applicants: copy of HSK certificate.

4.      Research Plan

Applicants need to submit study and research plan written in English or Chinese with a minimum of 800 words. The research plan includes educational background, working experiences, research achievements, future research interest and research plan during their studies leading to master or doctoral degree, and personal career planning after graduation, etc.

5.      Recommendation Letters

Please provide two supporting recommendation letters from professors or associate professors at their institutions either in English or in Chinese. Phone number and email of the professor should be included.

6.        Academic papers, research achievements (if applicable)

7.      Provisional Consent Form (if applicable)

Applicant is encouraged to contact relative professors who are willing to supervise their proposed study at NJUST. ‘Provisional Consent Form’ is expected to be completed by the professor and enclosed in application package.

8.      Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form

You shall fill out the form in English or in Chinese and keep the original form. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant will be considered as invalid. Please carefully arrange your physical examination schedule as the physical examination result is valid for only 6 months.

9.      Certificate of guarantee, proof of the guarantor's financial ability (mainly including statement of employment and income, certificate of bank deposit or other proof of financial ability).

 

 

 

VI. Registration Dates

In early September, 2020; Students who have been admitted must go to NJUST to complete their check in for new students according to the specified date and requirements on Admission Letter.

      VII. Fees

Application fee: 500yuan (Approx. 80USD).

No application fees will be returned regardless of admission.

Tuition:

Master programs in Chinese: RMB 24,000/Year (Approx. USD 3,460/ Year)

Master programs in English: RMB 36,000/Year (Approx. USD 5,190/ Year)

Doctoral programs in Chinese: RMB 36,000/Year (Approx. USD 5,190/ Year)

Doctoral programs in English: RMB 44,200/Year (Approx. USD 6,380/ Year)

VIII. Scholarships

1.    Requirements

Eligible to apply for NJUST international graduate program;

Not supported by another scholarship simultaneously.

2.    Application procedures

Eligible applicants shall log on to the NJUST online application system before the deadline (visit http://admission.njust.edu.cn), fill in and submit the application form online.

May 30, 2020: Deadline for the application of other scholarship programs

Note: If applicants want to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, they have to mail hardcopy application materials to us.

No application materials and application fees will be returned regardless of admission.

4.    Annual Comprehensive Scholarship Assessment

All scholarship recipients are obliged to attend the annual comprehensive scholarship assessment during April and/or May of each year to confirm their qualification of the scholarship for the next academic year.
