2020 General Regulation of Undergraduate Enrollment for International Students

                I.          Enrollment Plan

NJUST offers both Chinese-taught and English-taught programs for undergraduate international students studying in China in 2020. Please refer to the List of NJUST 2020 Undergraduate Programs for International Students (http://study.njust.edu.cn/wourseswwrograms/list.htm) for more information about majors or visit admission website (http://study.njust.edu.cn) about 2020 NJUST Undergraduate programs and scholarship information.

The study duration for undergraduate programs is generally 4 years. Corresponding degree and diploma will be awarded upon completion of the specialized program curriculum with an average GPA of 2.0 or above and meeting other relevant requirements. Graduates majoring in Chinese as a teaching language should attain HSK 5; graduates majoring in English language as a teaching language should at least attain HSK4.

              II.          Eligibility

1.      Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health both physically and mentally with good academic background, observe Chinese laws as well as university rules and regulations, and respect Chinese customs.

2.      Educational background and age limit

Applicants must have a high school diploma or certification of equivalent education, between 18 and 28 years old. The high school diploma must be ready prior to the registration day.

3.      Language Requirements

Applicants who apply for Chinese-taught programs must have the result of HSK4 or above;

Applicants who apply for English-taught program and were taught in non-English must achieve minimum requirements for IELTS (Academic) total score 5.5, or TOEFL score 80.

             III.          Application Dates and Deadlines

                  Dec 30, 2019: Start of application

              May 30, 2020: Deadline for the application of all types of scholarship program

June 30, 2020: Deadline for self-supported application

            IV.          Application Procedure

1.       Apply Online. Complete the online application procedure at NJUST International Student Service System (visit http://admission.njust.edu.cn/. do and click ‘Register’ to create an account), submit online the completed Application Form for APPLICATION FORM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS TO STUDY AT NJUST, according to instruction, fill out data and upload relative application documents.

2.      Pay the application fee.

Note: No application fees will be returned regardless of admission.

              V.          Application Documents   

1.      Copy of valid passport information page.

2.      Copy of high school diploma and official transcripts. If the above materials are neither in Chinese nor in English, one has to present notarized Chinese or English version.

Note: If applicants are enrolled as current university students in China, they should also submit the study certificate and approved transfer letter from their previous institutions.

3.      Language Proficiency Certificate

For English-taught program applicants: copy of official IELTS certificate or TOFEL certificate.

For Chinese-taught program applicants: copy of HSK certificate.

4.      Motivation Letter

Applicants shall submit reports written in English or Chinese with a minimum of 800 words about their study intention at NJUST. The report includes the educational background, working experiences, motivation of studying at NJUST, reasons for choosing majors, and personal career planning after graduation, etc.

5.      Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form

You shall fill out the form in English or in Chinese and keep the original form. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant will be considered as invalid. Please carefully arrange your physical examination schedule as the physical examination result is valid for only 6 months.

6.Certificate of Guarantee, proof of the guarantor's financial ability (mainly including statement of employment and income, certificate of bank deposit or other proof of financial ability).

            VI.          Registration Dates

In early September, 2020; Students who have been admitted must go to NJUST to complete their check in for new students according to the specified date and requirements on Admission Letter.

           VII.          Fees

Application fee: 500yuan (Approx. 80USD).

No application fees will be returned regardless of admission.

Tuition:

Undergraduate programs in Chinese: RMB 18,000/ Year (Approx. USD 2,600/ Year)

Undergraduate programs in English: RMB 19,800/ Year (Approx. USD 2,850/ Year)

         VIII.          Scholarships

1.    Requirements

Eligible to apply for NJUST international undergraduate program;

Not supported by another scholarship simultaneously.

2.    Application procedures

Eligible applicants shall log on to the online application system of NJUST before the deadline (visit http://admission.njust.edu.cn), fill in and submit the application form online.

Deadline for the application of Scholarship program: May30, 2020

Note: If applicants want to apply for Jiangsu Provincial Government Scholarship or NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship, they should mail hardcopy application materials to us.

4.    Annual Comprehensive Scholarship Assessment

All scholarship recipients are obliged to attend the annual comprehensive scholarship assessment during April and/or May each year to confirm their qualification of the scholarship for the next academic year.
